Dr. Hilary Cronin
Dr. Cronin is a clinical geriatrician who has been working with TILDA as Medical Director since the study was launched in 2006. A medical doctor, she completed her medical degree at University College Cork in 1997, completed her specialist training in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine (RCPI) in 2007 and now works as a Consultant Geriatrician in the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar.
Her primary research interest is in the epidemiology of falls and fear of falling in the elderly. She is also very interested in the association between cardiovascular disorders (specifically orthostatic hypotension), cognition and falls and is due to complete her Ph.D. entitled "Fear of Falling in Older Irish Adults" later this year.
