Governance
TILDA is governed by a Steering Committee, Oversight Board and Scientific Advisory Board.
TILDA Steering Committee
Our Steering Committee is composed of individual representing the institutions that have contributed to the development of TILDA since its inception: Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT), Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI), National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG), The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and University College Cork (UCC). The Steering Committee represents a reservoir of expertise and experience, with all members being active researchers from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds. The Committee is responsible for the overall management of the project.
Oversight Board
The TILDA Oversight Board was established to provide general oversight of the project’s activities and to channel support in the wider community for the TILDA study. The Board members provide advice and support to TILDA about achieving strategic goals; overseeing implementation of the study; ensuring that TILDA is managed in a manner consistent with best operational practice; ensuring interaction with government institutions and policy agencies; and facilitating contact with and comparison of data among international ageing studies.
TILDA Scientific Advisory Board
Our Scientific Advisory Board is composed of international experts in one or more of the TILDA domains (economic, health and social) who also have experience with longitudinal studies. This panel of experts provides advice on the TILDA research questions of most importance to the scientific community and to policymakers. The group also provides feedback on the methodologies adopted by the TILDA team, to ensure that TILDA is at the forefront of ageing research internationally.
