TILDA Shares Evidence on Living Well with Arthritis at Age Friendly Raheny Event
Posted on 11 June 2026
TILDA Project Manager Dr Ann Monaghan recently delivered a talk on Living Well with Arthritis to members of the Age Friendly Raheny group, bringing together evidence from TILDA with practical physiotherapy guidance to support healthy ageing.
The event, attended by approximately 40 members of the local community, explored practical approaches to managing arthritis and maintaining mobility and independence in later life.
Supporting healthy ageing in the community
Drawing on findings from TILDA alongside her background in physiotherapy, Ann discussed a range of evidence-informed strategies for living well with arthritis, including pain management, maintaining joint mobility, low-impact exercise, and preserving functional mobility.
The session also highlighted the importance of remaining physically active, adopting self-management strategies, and accessing appropriate support to help people continue participating in the activities that matter most to them.
Sharing research beyond the classroom
Community engagement is an important part of TILDA's mission to translate research into real-world impact. Events such as these provide opportunities to share evidence directly with older adults, helping individuals make informed decisions that support healthy and positive ageing.
TILDA would like to thank the Age Friendly Raheny group for their warm welcome and enthusiastic participation.
