HCAP Data Cleaning and Harmonisation Meeting
Dublin, 7 August 2024 — The Harmonised Cognitive Assessment Protocol (HCAP) Data Cleaning and Harmonisation Teams met at The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA) facility in Dublin from the 6th - 7th August to refine and standardise cognitive data crucial for ongoing research. Conducted in a hybrid format, the meeting facilitated both in-person and virtual participation.
The meeting focused on integrating and refining cognitive assessments, to enhance the consistency and quality of data across the HCAP study. Researchers from TILDA, the English Longitudinal Study on Ageing (ELSA), the Northern Ireland Cohort for the Longitudinal study of Ageing (NICOLA), and the Health and Retirement Study (HRS) HCAP research teams attended, with Leeanne O'Hara, Project Manager and Calum Marr, Research Assistant, from the NICOLA HCAP team, who participated with TILDA HCAP researchers in person.
Key discussions centred on the integration of new cognitive measures and informant data, which aim to bolster the robustness of the data. The meeting also included strategic planning for future publications and exploring potential collaborations to leverage the refined data for impactful research outcomes.
