The TILDA Connecting Generations Award invites undergraduate and postgraduate students at Trinity College Dublin to explore ageism, intergenerational connection, and the positive aspects of ageing through creative and reflective work.
Supported by Elliott and Cathy Maisie of The MASIE Learning Foundation and Broadway/Ireland Connection, this initiative provides a platform for students to challenge stereotypes and offer fresh perspectives on ageing in Ireland.
Winning entries will be showcased at the TILDA Connecting Generations Event (date TBC) at Trinity College Dublin, bringing together students, researchers, creatives, and the public to celebrate student-led engagement with ageism.
Key Dates:
- Submission Deadline: 1st July 2025
- Showcase & Awards Event: Date TBC
Award Categories:
- Creative Media Competition: Submit an original video, photograph, painting, or illustration addressing themes such as intergenerational connection, challenging stereotypes about ageing, and flourishing in later life.
- Essay or Journalism Prize: Write a short essay or opinion piece reflecting on ageism, the challenges of ageing in Ireland, and solutions to combat ageism.
Prizes:
- €500 for the winning entry in each category
- Winning entries will be showcased at the TILDA Connecting Generations Event and may be featured on TILDA and Trinity College Dublin platforms.
