Dr Ann Monaghan Wins Dean’s Award for Professional & Support Staff

TILDA is delighted to share that Dr Ann Monaghan, our Project Manager, has been awarded the Dean of Health Sciences Award for Professional and Support Staff for Exemplary Performance. This honour recognises Ann’s outstanding leadership, strategic vision, and enduring contributions to TILDA’s success.
Professor Brian O’Connell, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, presented these awards to staff in recognition of their dedicated service and outstanding contributions to the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Exemplary Performance
Among her many achievements, Ann played a pivotal role in launching Wave 7 of the study, expertly navigating complex legal agreements and stakeholder coordination. In preparation for the data collection, she led the team in delivering a comprehensive set of interviewer training sessions across the country, training over 70 interviewers to ensure fieldwork runs smoothly and efficiently.

Her contributions extend to designing the highly successful TILDA Data Workshop and leading TILDA’s Frailty Education Programme, which has trained over 430 healthcare professionals.
Ann’s exceptional work has also played a key role in TILDA being awarded WHO Collaborating Centre status. Beyond her technical accomplishments, she is known for fostering a positive team culture and promoting inclusivity across the project.
