Brenda Ozeias Santos
Brenda joined the TILDA research team as a doctoral candidate in 2024. Her PhD is in Epigenetics and Social Inequality, focusing on the impact of social inequality on biological aging. Her research examines how socioeconomic factors shape DNA methylation patterns and influence aging through OMICS-based methods. She aims to examine the mechanisms by which social environments affect cellular biology and biological ageing, assessing the potential for these epigenetic changes to be modified or reversed. Through her work, Brenda will contribute to a deeper understanding of the relationship between socioeconomic disparities and molecular biology and their health outcomes across the lifespan and which of these contribute to early ageing.
Brenda holds a BSc in Biomedical and Molecular Diagnostics from Technological University Dublin.
