Ireland: The World’s First Age-friendly Country
Ireland has been working for over a decade to develop age-friendly environments, and in December, became the first country in the world where all local administrations are members of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities. An event to mark the achievement was celebrated in Slane on Monday 16th December and attended by the WHO along with An Taoiseach, Minister for Mental Health and Older People.
