Modified Caregiver Strain index (MCSI)

Description: The level of strain experienced by caregivers of older adults.

Scoring Method:

  • 3-point Likert Scale

    • 0 = No

    • 1 = Yes, sometimes

    • 2 = Yes, on a regular basis

  • A cumulative score is generated with higher scores representing greater levels of caregiver strain (range 0-26).
