Ms. Maria Gillan
Maria Gillan joined TILDA as Research and Communications Officer in March 2020. Maria graduated from St. Patrick's College (DCU) with a BA in English Literature and Human Development in 2008. Prior to joining TILDA, she worked as a teacher internationally and completed her MA in Media Practice for Development and Social Change at the University of Sussex in 2017.
In previous roles, Maria worked for Irish international aid agency GOAL as a Digital Communications Officer for two years. This role involved building internal and external communications, growing a digital presence online and using a variety of multimedia and storytelling techniques to promote overseas development work to inspire audiences.
Her role in TILDA is to support and build communications content for the wider TILDA team internally and externally, primarily through press releases of TILDA research, and through online digital content. She also updates TILDA publications across a variety of research areas by TILDA's researchers, manages TILDA's web content, and advices on TILDA's communications efforts.
