Christopher Fawsitt joined TILDA in April 2015 as a Health Economics Research Fellow. He previously completed a BA in Economics and History in 2010 and a MSc in Health Economics in 2011 in University College Cork (UCC). In 2012, he joined the National Perinatal Epidemiology Centre where he was awarded funding to complete a PhD within UCC. Christopher’s thesis investigated demand for alternative models of maternity care in Ireland and assessed whether an expansion of these models of care reflected value for money. During his PhD, Christopher lectured in health economics and quantitative techniques and analysis in the School of Economics, UCC.
Christopher’s research interests at TILDA include health care financing, health care utilisation, health outcomes, and spatial analysis.
